In terms of cases registered in the capital, along with Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates, two-thirds of the total cases in Telangana fell under the jurisdiction of these three commissionerates.

Hyderabad: As many as 1,57,65,552 cases of various kinds of violations of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act) were reported in the State during the year (up to December 15). Penalties to the tune of Rs. 535 crore was collected from the violators during the year.
However, this was slightly less than last year. Last year, 1,57,68,339 cases were reported and a fine of Rs. 540.91 crore was collected. As for cases registered in the capital along with Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates, two thirds of the total cases in Telangana were within the jurisdiction of these three commissionerates.
Traffic Police have registered 55,234 cases of drunk driving and collected a fine of Rs 10.69 crore from offenders during the year in Hyderabad city alone.
On the other hand, Mulugu and Bhupalpally districts have reported the least number of cases. Violations like not wearing a helmet, traveling at high speed, signal jumping and talking on cell phone while driving were being recorded in the CCTV cameras on the roads and intersections.
