Three realtors arrested for fraud, third such case in one month in Khammam

Khammam: The CCS police have registered a case against real estate traders who were committing irregularities and were robbing innocent people of lakhs of rupees, Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt said.

The accused Manukonda Srinivas of Naidupeta in Khammam rural mandal and Tallapalli Rajagiri of Khammam town and Siliveru Ravi of Srinivas Nagar in Khammam created false documents for several plots that were not related to them and sold them to many people under survey numbers 42/E and 42/EE of Agraharam area, the CP informed.

The three of them together cheated people to the tune of up to Rs 5 lakh and similarly they cheated up to Rs 25 lakh from two others. The CCS police station registered a case and launched an investigation following a complaint by Vinukonda Marianna of Parsibandam area.

Dutt suggested that individuals before buying lands and plots should go to the field and check whether the relevant documents were in order. Recently, real estate traders/land owners were taking money from financiers in the pretext of developing plots and registering them with financiers.

Many complaints were being received that the same plots were being defrauded by taking money and not registering them by giving GPA to someone else, the CP said.

It might be noted that Khammam police have booked seven persons in three real estate fraud cases including the above one. Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department, Venkata Narayana was booked by Khammam two-town police on March 8 for failing to honor an agreement made with buyers for developing an apartment on a four-acre land in Velugumatla area in stipulated time despite taking money for the flats.

On March 3 Khanapuram Haveli police booked cases against Sheikh Bade Saheb of Mathura Nagar area and KothapalliVenkateswarlu and Tipparti Ashok Kumar (revenue inspector) of Patharlapadu in Chintakani mandal for doing real estate business with fake documents and cheating the public.

Similarly, cases were registered against nine persons at Konijerla police station for carrying out as many as 64 illegal registrations of lands of a local real estate venture a month ago.
