Hyderabad: Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Monday announced that the State government will develop an eco-town across 80 acres, inspired by Japan’s Kitakyushu City model.
He said the cooperation agreement signed between Telangana and Kitakyushu would serve as a strategic roadmap for the initiative.
Speaking at the ‘From Kitakyushu to Telangana: Catalysing Sustainable Industrial Growth’ conference held at T-Hub, the Minister said Telangana is actively encouraging Japanese investments, with 50 youth from the State having already secured employment in Japan.
The government will collaborate with Kitakyushu on achieving Net Zero targets, riverfront development, circular economy practices, clean technologies, and digital innovation, he added.
“The feasibility of direct flight services between Hyderabad and Kitakyushu will also be explored to boost bilateral ties,” Sridhar Babu said.
