Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police have booked a case against a home guard officer for allegedly cheating a person by promising to provide a government job.
Complainant Sunil Goud, a private employee and resident of Pratap Singaram, came in contact with D Chandra Prakash, a home guard, through a friend in 2012.
In 2024, Sunil Goud had shared with Chandra Prakash about his wife appearing for the TGPSC Group-4 examination and was waiting for the job.
For this, Chandra Prakash promised to provide her a job as junior assistant in quota and also talk to senior officials in that regard. He collected Rs 3 lakh for the purpose and also a blank cheque.
Months passed, but there was no response from Chandra Prakash, and when Sunil Goud asked him to return the money, the former refused to do so. Investigation is underway.
