Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court stayed the further proceedings in the criminal case filed against BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao in relation to participating in an interview in front of the Telangana Thalli statue along with Goreti Venkanna, during the Modal Code of Conduct in November 2023. Political activities should not be held in government offices, government buildings and offices during elections. Doing so is a crime under the Election Commission rules. As the memorial structure is a government building, it is a violation of the rules to conduct an interview in that building. Hence, the Saifabad police had registered the crime and filed a charge sheet recently. Challenging it, Rama Rao approached the High Court.
