Vemulawada: A gruesome murder shook the Vemulawada temple town, when the body of a youngster was found with multiple injuries on Konayapally road on Wednesday morning. Police believe the murder could have been a fall out of an illicit relation, but investigations are on from all angles.
The body of Rasheed (35) was found near the lane next to a scooter showroom. The body bore nearly 25 deep wounds, inflicted with knives. It is learnt that Rasheed, a native of Nukalamarry of Vemulawada rural mandal, was working as a document writer in Gangadhara of Karimnagar district. He was allegedly maintaining an illicit relationship with a woman. Their relationship came to light when both of them went to Goa a year ago. Both the families entered into a conflict at that time and a case was also filed against Rasheed.
As both the families refused to accept her, the woman was reportedly staying in a rented house in New Urban colony. Her husband, who migrated to Dubai in search of employment, recently came home and began watching Rasheed’s movements. On knowing that Rasheed was visiting the woman, he waited nearby in the morning and allegedly attacked Rasheed with a knife when he came out of the house.
When Rasheed tried to escape, he chased him for about half a kilometre and stabbed him indiscriminately. While escaping, Rasheed alerted his relatives, who rushed to the spot and shifted him to the Vemulawada area hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
A total of 25 knife injuries were found on the body. While 15 injuries were found on the head, 10 were on other parts of the body. Vemulawada town in-charge CI Srinivas, SB DSP Muralikrishna, SIs Ramesh and Maruthi visited the spot. Based on the complaint lodged by the family members, they registered a case and began investigation, Vemulawada rural CI Srinivas said.
It is learnt that one of the accused involved in the murder surrendered before the police.
