Telangana: Ganja peddler from Maharastra nabbed in Sangareddy, 20 kgs of ganja seized

Sangareddy: Officials of State task force of Excise department nabbed a habitual ganja peddler from Maharastra and seized 20.6 kgs of ganja from him at Pothireddypally junction in Sangareddy town on Friday.

The accused person Jalaluddin Siddiqi Ahmed Hussian of Aurangabad, was working as an operator in a private company locally. He also got into ganja peddling as his salary was insufficient to meet his needs.

Hussian, who has been smuggling ganja from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, was caught by excise officials at Abdullapurmet in 2023. However, he failed to mend his behavior even after going to jail.

Hussain, who continued ganja peddling after walking out of jail, was getting ganja from Sileru in Andhra Pradesh when the special task force officials caught him following a tip off. He reportedly sells the ganja in various places in Maharastra.

The state task force officer Anji Reddy produced him before the court. He was sent to remand.
