Mancherial: A 36-year-old daily wage earner, who was an accused in a case of abetment of suicide, died allegedly by suicide at Rajivnagar here on Monday night.

Police said Ramtenki Banesh from Bheemini village hanged himself around 1 am. Family members maintained that Banesh was depressed after being booked in an abetment of suicide case in Rebbena in the neighbouring Kumram Bheem Asifabad district a few months ago.

Police said that the relatives of one Venkatesh, who died by suicide, had accused Banesh of threatening and harassing him, thus abetting his suicide. The case was registered based on their complaint.

Banesh was arrested and released on bail recently, but was reportedly upset that he was an accused in a case, family members said.

Banesh had migrated to Mancherial in search of livelihood a few years ago. He was living with his second wife in Rajivnagar after divorcing his first wife.

Based on a complaint received from his aunt Pochamma, a case was registered. Investigations were taken up.
