Peddapalli: District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Anna Prasanna on Saturday conducted surprise checks at Mamatha Hospital in Godavarikhani town on the allegation of conducting sex determination tests.
Based on a complaint about prenatal determination tests (PNDT) being done at the hospital, the DMHO conducted surprise checks and asked the staff to open the scanning room.
The staff delayed opening the scanning room on the pretext that the technician was not available and the keys were not accessible.
Enraged over the staff’s negligence, she dragged one of the workers, Anand, by his collar and opened the scanning room by breaking the lock.
The hospital management lodged a complaint against the DMHO for misbehaving with a Dalit worker. Anand lodged a complaint with the Godavarikhani Town-I police. So far, the case has not been registered.
