Khammam: A young social worker from Kothagudem town was killed in a road accident near Khammam-Hyderabad national highway at Jeellacheruvu in Kusumanchi mandal on Thursday.

Mohammed Ibrahim (35) of Budidagadda area in the town was going to Hyderabad in a car to visit one of his relatives.


According to the locals, he lost control of the vehicle and hit a divider and was thrown out of the vehicle to a distance of around 300 metres.

He suffered grievous injury to his head and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Government General Hospital in Khammam for postmortem.

Kusumanchi SI Nagaraju visited the spot and booked a case in connection with the incident. Ibrahim, who was survived by three children and his wife, had set up an NGO Khidmat-e-Insaniyat Trust to help the poorer sections.

He carried out many service activities during the Covid crisis through the trust. Kothagudem Urdu Ghar president Nayeem Qureshi and others extended condolences to his family members following his death.
