HYDERABAD: The CPI (M) State unit has demanded a thorough investigation into the Srisailam Left Bank Canal incident in which a few people are feared trapped after a portion of the roof collapsed at the under-construction site on Saturday.
The CPI (M) State secretary John Wesley in a statement expressed grief over the incident.
Since last one week, there was water leakage in the tunnel and the government had to be very cautious. However, the tunnelling works were taken up without any sufficient safety measures, he said.
“A thorough investigation should be conducted into the incident. The government should announce ex gratia to the injured and extend all support,” John Wesley demanded.
