Hyderabad: The School Education Department decided to provide full pants instead of short pants (Knickers) to Class VI and VII boys.
The School Education Department, in its revised uniform design for the academic year 2025-26, had prescribed shirts and knickers (short pants) for boys in Classes I to VII.
In a letter to Telangana Handlooms and Weavers Cooperative Society Limited (THWCSL) that supplies uniform cloth, School Education Director, EV Narasimha Reddy on Friday said it has been decided to supply pants to Class VI and VII boys instead of short pants (knickers).
The decision will be applicable to 92,448 boys in Class VI and 92,448 boys in Class VII studying in the government-run schools under the School Education Department.
All the self-help groups have also been asked to stitch pants instead of knickers for Class VI and VII boys as per the specifications for Classes VIII to XII.
