Adilabad: With the assembly election year starting, the BRS leadership is focusing on constituencies where internal bickering is strong and local MLAs are unpopular in the erstwhile Adilabad district.
The party high command has been conducting surveys for ground-level feedback about the ruling party’s status and the respective local MLA's activity in each assembly constituency.
The high command is taking a serious note of the groupism in the party in various assembly constituencies where several leaders and elected representatives are aspiring for party ticket in the upcoming polls. The feedback the leadership got from these surveys was that special efforts must be made in such constituencies, like Mudhole where Vittal Reddy of TRS is a sitting MLA.
The lack of coordination among the TRS leaders and local MLA Rathod Bapu Rao has been noted by the leadership.
During an interaction, minister KT Rama Rao asked the second rung leaders and elected MPTC and MPPs to cooperate with the local MLA. It is noted that videos and audio clips of MLA Rathod Bapurao were getting viral on social media due to a lack of coordination among the party leaders.
Former Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh actively participates in the party programmes and has been visiting villages in the Boath assembly constituency. Nagesh recently visited some villages in the bordering town Kinwat of Maharashtra and held interactions with the local people with a view to expanding the BRS network to Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, Neredigonda TRS-ZPTC, Anil Jadhav, aspiring for a party ticket from the Boath assembly constituency, stated that he would contest the polls if the party high command gave him a chance.
Adilabad ZP chairperson Rathod Janardhan is also aspiring for a party ticket from the Khanapur constituency reserved for STs, where TRS sitting MLA Rekha Naik is a strong contender for the party ticket. She expressed the confidence that she would be re-fielded by the party in the next elections.
Asifabad ZP chairperson Kova Laxmi also aspires to to contest the assembly poll from Asifabad where the sitting MLA is Atram Sakku, who joined the TRS after being elected on a Congress ticket the last time.
Nallala Odelu and her wife, ZP chairperson Bhagyalaxmi, returned to TRS from the Congress after a brief stint there. It seems these two leaders are now getting “adjusted” with local MLA Balka Suman. However, it is not clear whether Odelu would contest from Chennur. If Balka Suman contests for the parliament, a space would be created for Odelu in Chennur.
