Hyderabad: A man who was allegedly involved in a case of murder attempt earlier, was hacked to death by a group of persons at LB Nagar on Saturday night.
According to the police, Boddu Mahesh (30), a resident of RTC Colony in LB Nagar, and a native of Suryapet district, was previously involved in two cases, including one murder attempt case registered in December 2024.
The issue started following a quarrel between Mahesh and a few people, including Purushotham and Ramulu, during a marriage procession.
In December 2024, Mahesh allegedly attacked Purushotham and Ramulu over the same issue following which a case of murder attempt was registered against Mahesh at Chaitanyapuri police station.
The police arrested him and recently he was granted bail by the local court.
On coming to know that Mahesh was out of jail, Purushotham and Ramulu feared that he might kill them. They planned to kill him and were keeping a tab on his movements.
“On Saturday night, Purushotham and others took a car and followed Mahesh who was going on a bike. On getting an opportunity, they hit the bike from behind and when Mahesh fell, they attacked him with knives, resulting in his death,” said LB Nagar Inspector K Vinod Kumar.
The police reached the spot and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.
