KTR urges Telangana Govt to revive CM’s Breakfast Scheme

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has urged the Congress government to revive the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, citing a Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission report that highlights its positive impact on children’s health and education.

The report found that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme led to a 63.2 per cent drop in hospital admissions among primary school children and a 70.6 per cent decline in serious illnesses. Learning outcomes also improved significantly.

“The K Chandrashekhar Rao government in Telangana launched an upgraded version, to achieve similar results. But the Congress government with its shortsightedness chose to cancel it. This is the right time to reconsider your decision and restart the project before the next academic session begins,” he said.

The scheme was launched in Telangana by Chandrashekhar Rao in 2023 to prevent classroom hunger and malnutrition among more than 20 lakh students across 43,000 government schools.
