Hyderabad: Launching a scathing attack on the Congress government for neglecting the State’s farmers and putting them to financial distress, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday questioned the treatment meted out to the peasant community in the Congress rule.
He said the Congress government had failed to provide adequate irrigation facilities. It resulted in crop losses and pushed farmers into debt. He criticised the government’s recent attempts to collect water cess which was done away with by the previous BRS government.
Lashing out at the Congress government for imposing restrictions on the Rythu Bharosa scheme and failing to deliver on their promise of Rs 2 lakh loan waiver, he slammed the government for its failure to provide investment support, leaving farmers struggling to make ends meet.
Rama Rao warned that the farmers of Telangana would not tolerate such injustice and would fight back collectively holding the government accountable for the havoc played on them. He urged the farmers to unite and stand up against the oppressive policies of the Congress administration. In a posting on social media platform ‘X’, he stressed solidarity among the State’s farmers in their fight for justice.
