HYDERABAD: IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday expressed grief over the mishap involving three trains in Odisha in which over 280 passengers died on Friday night.
In his tweet, in the morning, he said, "My heartfelt condolences and prayers to all the families of the passengers who lost their loved ones and those affected.”
He also asked about Kavach, the anti-collision system developed by the Indian Railway. “What happened to the anti-collision devices? This is indeed a tragedy of unheard proportions that should have never happened,” the minister said.
As a mark of respect, Rama Rao postponed his programme to release the performance report on information technology, which was scheduled at 1 pm. “In light of the tragic train accident, the event has been deferred to Monday,” he said in a tweet.
