The super luxury bus from the Khammam depot was traveling from Vizag to Khammam when the incident took place. Around 20 passengers were on board at the time. The deceased, Sitarama Prasad (50) from Kallur, who worked at the Sathupalli depot, had boarded the bus to return home after completing his shift.

Khammam: A TSRTC bus conductor died and five passengers injured when an RTC bus hit a stationary oil tanker from behind at Kotha Lankapalli village of Penuballi mandal in the district on Sunday.
The super luxury bus belonging to Khammam depot was coming from Vizag to go to Khammam when the incident occurred. There were around 20 passengers on board the bus. The deceased Sitarama Prasad (50) of Kallur working at Sathupalli depot boarded the bus to go home after his hours were over.
The injured were shifted to government hospitals at Sathupalli and Penuballi for treatment.
