The Karnataka Tourism Department is planning to create a digital platform — ‘One TAC’ (Tourism, Art, Culture) — to help provide discoverability to the stakeholders in tourism sector, according to KV Rajendra, Director of Karnataka Tourism Department.
Addressing the delegates at the ‘Coastal Karnataka Tourism Workshop’, organised by the Karnataka Tourism Department in Mangaluru on Wednesday, Rajendra said a tourist visiting a location can select the destinations, tour guides, cultural and culinary experiences of the region, and can curate his/her own tourism plan with this platform. ‘One TAC’ will serve as an interoperable platform to increase the discoverability of the stakeholders in the tourism sector.
All details related to the sector such as tourism destinations, tour operators, hotels, resorts, beaches, etc., will be part of the proposed interactive website of the department. He asked the stakeholders in the tourism sector to share their tourism products with the department so that it can incorporate them in the proposed platform.
The department will conduct the Karnataka International Tourism Expo in Bengaluru from February 26-28. Many international tour operators and social media influencers will be part of this expo. He asked the coastal tourism stakeholders to take advantage of this expo and showcase their products in the expo.
