During the event, students alleged that the principal failed to address their concerns and restricted proper interaction with their parents. They accused her of using abusive language when questioned and imposing penalties on students returning late to the hostel after vacations, citing school development. Additionally, they claimed they were denied cosmetic charges sanctioned by the state government.

Jagtial: Laxmipur BC Welfare Residential School Principal Edelli Mamatha has been in controversy in the recent past. Close on the heels of an attack by her husband and brother, students of the school staged a protest against her on Saturday. Students staged a protest demanding the transfer of the school principal. Students, who came out from the school during the lunch hour, staged dharna on the road.
Speaking on the occasion, students alleged that the principal never focused on solving problems. The principal would not allow them to interact with their parents properly. Moreover, she abuses with filthy language if anybody questions her. the principal would impose a penalty to students, who would come to the hostel late after vacations, in the name of school development. Moreover, they were also denied cosmetic charges sanctioned by the state government.
Though they faced troubles sleeping in the monsoon season with the entry of rain water into their rooms, the principal was least bothered about the issue. However, she slept in her room by arranging benches. She would also behave rudely with staff, they alleged and wanted higher officials to transfer her immediately. Students withdrew their protest with the intervention of teachers. Gurukulam schools district convener Susmitha visited the school and enquired about the incident.
On Thursday, Mamatha was attacked by her husband Gangipelli Sampath Kumar and brother Rajashekhar attacked her in the school. She lodged a complaint against husband and brother with the police. A case was also registered. On the other hand, BC Gurukulam Schools Secretary Saidulu suspended the principal based on the enquiry report submitted by Regional Coordinating Officer Anjali.
