HYDERABAD: “We have had a good break and have had time as a team to reset and go back to the things that we were doing well. And, it’s about peaking at the right time,” said Delhi Capitals star batter Karun Nair on the eve of the IPL league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad here on Sunday.
Interestingly, Karun didn’t give a direct reply on whether captain Axar Patel, who suffered an injury in the previous game, would be fit for tomorrow’s game or not. “I am not sure, actually, but I think everything looks fine. It’s not something we are concerned about. I think, anyway, we will know tomorrow,” he said.
“The biggest challenge is about winning moments and winning particular moments in the game. And, we have been doing that really well in most of the games that we have played,” Karun said.
“We will love to play the way that works for us and which has worked for us in the first few games as well. And just continuing to do our processes in the right way. It’s a crucial match,” he said.
“ Every game we go out there is to win. So, we would like to win tomorrow and keep going further in the tournament. So, it’s about focusing on ourselves,” Karun said.
“What we can control is how we play and we win our games. We can’t keep looking behind us or looking in front of us. We have to look at ourselves and look at winning our games,” he said.
“ We have clear, marked-out roles for everyone, which is really nice. And, we have an amazing set-up that has been very positive and helping up,” he said.
On his own batting, Karun said he was still batting well, and it was again converting those 20s into big scores. “Those 15 or 20 runs also are impactful sometimes,” he added.
