Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto’s four-day visit to India to review bilateral ties and participate in the country’s Republic Day celebrations will help strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, the Ministry of External Affairs has said.

“A warm welcome to President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia as he arrives in New Delhi on his first State Visit to India. Received by Minister of State P Margherita at the airport. Will be the chief guest for India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations,” MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted on social media platform X on Thursday night.

The visit will further strengthen the India-Indonesia comprehensive strategic partnership, he added.

This is Subianto’s first visit to India since assuming office as President in October 2024.

The Indonesian President will be given a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday morning, which will be followed by a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Hyderabad House.

An exchange of MOUs and press statements will take place subsequently.

Subianto will also have meetings with President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday, per MEA’s schedule.

“As a comprehensive strategic partner, Indonesia is an important pillar in India’s Act East Policy and our vision of the Indo-Pacific,” the MEA noted in an earlier statement..

The official visit of the Indonesian President will provide an opportunity for the leaders to review bilateral ties and discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest, it said.
