Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad on Friday issued orange and yellow alert, indicating thunderstorms accompanies with gusty winds, for multiple districts in Telangana State up to next week Monday, even as weather forecasters here have maintained that there are chances of light showers in northern parts of Hyderabad towards Friday night.
For the last several days, due to heat wave the average maximum temperature in Hyderabad ranged from 39 degree Celsius to 41 degree Celsius. However, thanks to changing weather conditions, the maximum temperatures on Friday, according to IMD-Hyderabad dropped to 36 degree Celsius, a clear indication of temperatures cooling-off and bringing much-needed respite for general public.
The IMD-Hyderabad, meanwhile on Friday issued orange (high) alert thunderstorm accompanied with Lightning, gusty winds (40-50 kmph) and hailstorm at places in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Warangal, Hanamkonda and Jangaon on Saturday and Sunday.
The yellow alert from Saturday to Monday of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) has been issued for Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool,Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad and Jangaon.
On Friday, noted weather forecaster, T Balaji in his forecast said that northern parts of Hyderabad, Jagtial, Sircilla, Kamareddy, parts of Siddipet, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Asifabad and parts of Karimnagar will are likely to receive thundershowers.
