Hyderabad: Ibrahimpatnam MLA Malreddy Rangareddy, who expressed his disappointment after not being given a Cabinet berth, postponed the press meet he had earlier announced, following a phone conversation with AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan.

Initially, the Ibrahimpatnam MLA had announced that he would address the media at 5 pm and share his future plans. However, he postponed the event following the phone call from the AICC in-charge. It is also learned that TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud would visit the MLA’s house and speak to him personally later in the day.

Earlier, Natarajan had met Bodhan MLA P Sudershan Reddy at his residence. Like the Ibrahimpatnam MLA, the Bodhan MLA was also upset over not getting a berth in the Cabinet. Among the many aspirants, Rangareddy was considered a front-runner.

He had appealed to the state and AICC leadership to appoint one MLA from the Greater Hyderabad region as a Minister.

In April, Rangareddy had also said that he was prepared to quit and have another person elected from the constituency if caste and social equations were an obstacle to accommodating an MLA from the Greater Hyderabad region, particularly the erstwhile Rangareddy district, in the Cabinet.
