Hyderabad: Hyderabad, with crowds erupting into joyous celebration, witnessed jubilant cricket fans took the streets after Team India vanquished New Zealand in a nail-biting ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final in Dubai.
Big crowds of people swarmed Dilsukhnagar and the Telangana State Secretariat waving flags, bursting crackers, and chanting slogans to celebrate the victory. Roads were dotted with people dressed in blue leading to the jam-up of traffic on stretches near the Tank Bund. But the fun turned into chaos as crowds started blocking the highways and tried to get into metro stations, causing public movement to come to a standstill. Hyderabad police had to resort to a mild lathi charge to disperse the unruly and restore order.
However, the joyousness did not die down, with social media being flooded with videos and pictures from the charged environment. Cricket fans have hailed Team India’s victory as yet another milestone achievement in the annals of sports in the country.
