Hyderabad: Telangana’s economic progress under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao continues to spark debates on social media, with even AI tools acknowledging the State’s performance.
A user on X (@Telangana_Vibe) recently asked X-affiliated AI tool Grok to identify India’s best Chief Minister from 2014-2024 based on development.
Grok responded, “K Chandrashekhar Rao of Telangana stands out as the best Chief Minister”, adding that this was based on varied data including 10-12 per cent annual GSDP growth, major infrastructure upgrades, and Human Development Index (HDI) gains during his tenure.
Grok also praised Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for achievements in health and education, while mentioning Naveen Patnaik and Siddaramaiah for their governance. However, it noted, “Chandrashekhar Rao’s economic impact takes the lead. Data backs this, though opinions vary.”
Another X user, India Tech and Infra, shared the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) “Handbook of Statistics on Indian States” ranking Telangana first in Per Capita Net State Domestic Product (NSDP) growth from 2017-18 to 2022-23. Telangana recorded 28.52 per cent growth, followed by Tamil Nadu (25.22 per cent) and Karnataka (25.32 per cent), at constant prices.
Sharing these posts on X, BRS working president KT Rama Rao remarked, “Facts are facts, no matter what anyone thinks or opines. Telangana was the best-performing State under KCR.”
