Hyderabad: To check the mosquito menace in river Musi and surrounding areas, the entomology wing of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had taken up anti-larval operations.
The anti-larval operations were conducted with more than 100 workers of the entomology wing from February 3 to 14 to control the mosquito larvae. The workers were also engaged in removing water hyacinth in the Musi from Attapur to Chaderghat bridge.
According to a press release issued here, the operations had around 25 knapsack sprayers and five power sprayers used to spray larvicides such as MlO Oil and Temephos to control the mosquito larvae after removing the water hyacinth.
