Eleven arrested for poaching wild animals in Telangana’s Kagaznagar

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Eight men and three women of an inter-State wildlife poaching gang were arrested by the Forest officials in Kagaznagar on Wednesday. Two foot-traps, a knife and certain sharp objects used for poaching the animals were seized from them.

Kagaznagar Forest Divisional Officer Sushanth Bobade said that Dharma, Murali, Kanhaiah Lal, Shyam, Sunil, Jyothi, Radhe, Neelu, Chanda, Ajay and Sunny.


They were detained at Kagaznagar railway station, following a specific information received from the crime wing of the department that the gang reached the town from Balharshah in Maharashtra on Monday night.

During the course investigations, the accused persons gave contradictory statements. They claimed to be street venders, but were indulging in poaching wild animals by setting traps. Hair samples of wild animals were found in the foot-traps.

The hairs were sent to a lab for examination, the forest officials said.
