Officials seized marijuana worth Rs 1.9 lakh from him

Hyderabad: A drug peddler from Odisha was arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) at the Secunderabad railway station on Wednesday. He was found smuggling marijuana from Odisha to Maharashtra via Hyderabad.
Officials seized marijuana worth Rs 1.9 lakh from him.
The arrested drug peddler was identified as Abal from Gajapati district in Odisha. The absconding persons are Rino and Masia, also from Odisha.
Police said Abal, an agricultural worker, took to drug smuggling for easy money. With the support of his associates, he procured marijuana from the Gajapati forest area at a low rate from local dealers. He smuggled them into Pune in Maharashtra in trains via Secunderabad and sold it to local consumers at a higher rate.
He was caught during a checking at the Secunderabad railway station and the drug was seized from him.
