Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A court in Sirpur (T) expressed anger against the officials of the Forest Department for detaining eight women and eight children from Madhya Pradesh for three days accusing them of poaching wild animals.
Judge Ajay Ullam faulted the officials for detaining them from Monday to Wednesday, and asked the officials as to who gave them the right to detain them.
The court granted bail to the women when they were produced before it by the officials on Thursday.
The judge earlier instructed the officials of the District Children Protection Department to search for the women and children when the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) approached the court.
The women thanked the officials of the DLSA and DCPO B Mahesh for coming to their rescue.
They said that they belonged to a nomadic community.
