Hyderabad: A police constable died by suicide by hanging in his house at Durga Nagar in Amberpet on Thursday evening.
The cop, identified as A Venkateshwarlu (42), who was working at Madannapet police station under Hyderabad Police Commissionerate, is suspected to have been upset over financial problems and took the drastic step. He hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his house with a dupatta.
On receiving information from Venkateshwarlu’s family, the Amberpet police reached the spot and took up an investigation. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital for an autopsy. A case was registered.
