Patna: The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee is making desperate attempt to secure limited presence in the political landscape of Bihar just before the ensuing assembly polls in the month of October. Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar started his political campaign with a padyatra to CM Nitish Kumar’s residence along with party’s general secretary Sachin Pilot and party workers. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended Kanhaiya Kumar’s rally in Begusarai. Political observers are anticipating that Kanhaiya may fight assembly elections from Begusarai seat where BJP’s Kundan Kumar was the winner in 2020 assembly elections.
Kanhaiya Kumar is facing a miserable predicament since he has tied knot with the Congress as he lost two crucial elections. Kanhaiya was pitted against veteran BJP MP Manoj Tiwari during the Lok Sabha elections 2024 at North East Delhi seat and he lost it. He contested against BJP heavyweight Giriraj Singh at Begusarai seat and lost it. His padyatras are drawing very small crowd in Bihar where the Congress has dismal presence at the grass root level. He is trying hard to salvage the Congress in the crucial state where the stakes are high during the assembly polls.
