‘Caste war’ continues to rage in Telangana Congress

Hyderabad: A day after former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav’s outburst against the Congress State leadership and some upper caste leaders, TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy appealed to the Reddy community not to read much into those comments.

Without dropping names, the TPCC working president said recently a few leaders from other castes in the Congress had made a few comments against the Reddy community.

In Telangana, the Reddy community mingles with all communities and it has been a practice since long. In villages, the Reddy community strives to address issues faced by people, he stressed in a statement issued here on Tuesday.

A few other caste leaders, who joined the Congress recently, were making comments without any awareness. However, those, who have been with the party for a long have also now made a few comments.

Such remarks should be considered as an emotional outburst and not particularly against our community, the TPCC working president said.

“At present, the Reddy community in the State is in leadership position. All the leaders from the community should refrain from any taking steps and have patience,” Jagga Reddy said.

On Monday, Anjan Kumar Yadav had hit out against the upper caste leaders and accused them of suppressing the Yadav community in the party. But on Tuesday, despite video evidence of his statements, Anjan Kumar Yadav said his remarks were distorted by BRS leaders and a few media publications.

“My comments were twisted. I do not have any rivalry or differences with Reddy community leaders,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
