The Vishwabrahamana community was omitted from the caste list in the census, despite its members working as goldsmiths, carpenters, blacksmiths, shilpis, and kamshalis. While their occupations are listed, the community name itself is missing, leading to widespread frustration among its members.

Adilabad: Certain communities are not included in the lists of castes, causing problems for enumerators of the survey which began on Saturday.
The name of Vishwabrahamana community was not featured in the list of castes in the census. People who take up jobs of goldsmith, carpenter, blacksmith, shilpi and kamshali fall in the community. Their occupations can be found in the list of the castes, but the name of the community is missing, drawing ire of the members of the communities.
Adilabad town Vishwabrahmana community welfare association general secretary A Venkataswamy wondered as to why the name of their community was not included in the list of the castes of the survey. He stated that the community was numbered 22 and it could be found in Backward Castes identified by the State government.
The general secretary stated that leaders represented Collectors across Telangana requesting them to add the community to the list. It is learnt that the members are planning to launch a protest against the government demanding it to include the community in the list. They stated that
Meanwhile, people expressed displeasure over gathering data of assets, mobile phones and bank accounts. They wondered as to why details of assets, mobile phones and bank accounts should be disclosed with enumerators.
