BRS for the summertime.
In Fall 2024, Nike is set to bring back one of the most cherished Air Max 1s ever made – the highly limited Blue Ribbon Sports edition from the mythical Powerwall Collection of 2005. This re-issue, however, will land on the remastered ’86 model, complete with the larger Air “bubble” unit at the heel.
Before we receive the “BRS Powerwall” retro, it looks like Nike is reprising the famed colorway on another iteration of the Air Max 1 – the summer-time slide. Seen here via official Nike images, this Air Max 1 slide stays true to the OG colorway, with pecan brown matched up with a distinct shade of green and the crimson pink Swoosh. Even the vintage style tongue label, which is inspired the earlier era of the brand (when it was called Blue Ribbon Sports, not Nike), appears on the fore-foot cover.
Other colorways of the Air Max 1 Slide is priced at $75, and it seems likely that this special version will come attached with the same price. A first look at the actual Air Max 1 ’86 “BRS Powerwall” has yet to be revealed.
