French shipbroker BRS Group believes a volatile 2023 could still pose problems for optimistic tanker owners.
It has identified potential headwinds for crude and product carriers, predicting that it will be the second half of the year before the sector enters its “golden age”.
Crude tanker demand could be hit by higher oil prices, according to BRS, even if this goes against the conventional wisdom that higher prices eventually lead to higher supply.
