Karimnagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials nabbed SERP Jammikunta community coordinator Pasaragonda Suresh while he was allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a village organization assistant (VOA) on Tuesday.

According to the ACB, Suresh demanded Rs 20,000 as bribe from Peddampalli VOA Swapna to clear her honorarium bills of five months and settled for Rs 10,000.

Swapna, who paid Rs 4000 last month, approached the ACB as Suresh allegedly mounted pressure for the remaining amount. Unable to pay the amount, she approached the ACB who hatched a plan and trapped Suresh while accepting Rs 10,000 from her at his office in Jammikunta.

Last year, Suresh allegedly stalled Rs 35,000 which was due as honorarium for seven months to Swapna and cleared bills after he was grilled by her husband and others. This year, he again stalled Rs 25,000 (five months) and demanded the bribe of Rs 20,000 for clearing bills of both this year and last year.
