Hyderabad MLC poll | Hyderabad, Feb 21 (Maxim News): Keeping in view that the ruling BRS party headed by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao announced its party support to its friendly ally AIMIM candidate for the Hyderabad Local Bodies elections, the BJP which decided earlier not to contest the elections, are now rethinking of contesting the elections.
The MLC quota votes of Hyderabad Local Body are 127 out of which 9 are vacant. The nomination period will end on February 23.
The number of people exercising the right to vote is 118, MIM has 52, BRS 41, and BJP 25 votes each. If you get 60 votes out of the total votes, you are considered to have won. it means that no party can win on its own.
In view of the support of BRS to MIM, voting will be mandatory if BJP enters the fray. BJ leaders are already extensively discussing the contest for the MLC election of the local body.
On the other hand, AVN Reddy filed a nomination as a BJP candidate in Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahbubnagar Teachers MLC constituency. (Maxim News)
