Sangareddy: The joint action committee (JAC) fighting against the GHMC’s dump yard at Pyaranagar has called for a Narsapur town bandh on Thursday as officials went on laying the approach road despite strong opposition from the villages.
Since the dump yard is located close to Narsapur town in Medak district, the people felt that the stench from the dump yard would reach the town apart from polluting water bodies such as Rayarao Cheruvu.
The JAC members said the dump yard would make 10 villages in Narsapur mandal and Gummadidala mandal inhabitable once the GHMC officials start dumping waste there.
Narsapur MLA V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy and leaders from various political affiliations are expected to participate in the bandh on Thursday.
