Hyderabad: Cops book two YouTubers for provocative and derogatory comments

Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police booked cases against two YouTubers for allegedly making derogatory and provocative comments against a community and the police. Based on a complaint, the police initially booked a case against Karunakar Sugguna and Praveen Kumar. As part of the investigation, the police team visited the YouTube office located in Ameerpet and examined the CCTV footage from the spot.

Police said while examining the footage, it was observed that Karunakar had uploaded another video on his YouTuber channel making similar derogatory comments instigating another community. Another individual, Lalith Kumar, was also found supporting Karunakar by making insensitive comments for public to gather in large numbers at the Punjagutta station against the police.


Accordingly, a case was registered and being investigated. Punjagutta ACP S Mohan Kumar said that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found uploading videos on social media platforms that defame, insult, or hurt the sentiments of any community.
