The State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (SIPCOT), an institution promoting industrial growth in Tamil Nadu, has signed an MoU with FICCI-FLO Chennai to establish creche facilities in 17 SIPCOT industrial parks in the State.
Industries Minister TRB Rajaa said in a social media post that this will empower the working mothers amongst the 3.23 lakh employees in these SIPCOTs to balance their personal and professional lives.
Tamil Nadu is home to almost 43 per cent of the women working in India’s factories. With this initiative, the State aims to reduce the personal life workload of these working women. “We believe that welfare is an integral part of industrial development and by empowering our women, we strengthen industries and the very fabric of society,” he said.
