Khammam: Task force police conducted surprise inspections in various parts of Khammam city to check narcotic drug consumption.
Following the directions from Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt, led by the task force ACP Ravi, the task force police conducted inspections on Saturday and Sunday in many areas which were said to be addas (spots) for consumption of ganja.
The ACP stated that surprise checks were conducted to control illegal activities along with ganja and other drug consumption. “Such surprise inspections would continue from now on. Strict legal action would be taken against those who sell or supply drugs like ganja,” he added.
Youths were destroying their precious future by getting addicted to ganja. Cases would also be registered against those who use ganja and sent to jail. Parents should observe their children’s behaviour and habits from time to time, he suggested.
In addition to the ganja addas in the city, inspections were carried out in area like Rotary Nagar tank, SBIT, Mamata Medical College, Shanti Nagar School, Church compound, Zaheerpura Park, Prakash Nagar, NTR Circle, new bus stand, Gattaiah Centre, Sarita Clinic, Saradhi Nagar lower railway bridge and Gollagudem, the ACP informed.
