Hyderabad: The drug inspectors of Telangana State Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) conducted raids in the premises of three quacks (unqualified medical practitioners), who were practicing allopathy, at different locations in Telangana State and seized substantial stocks of medicines worth Rs 83, 000, stored illegally for sale.
The DCA raided the premises of D Narsimha, Bijwar village, Utkoor mandal, Narayanpet district, and seized 41 varieties of drugs stocked illegally for sale.
The DCA teams raided the premises of Masipaka Anvesh at Bodu village, Bhadradri Kothagudem and seized 29 varieties of various medicines out of which 12 samples were physian’s samples, which were not meant for sale.
In yet another seizure, the DCA teams raided the premises of Gantha Dharmaraju at Sai Clinic, near Bachupally, Medchal-Malkajgiri and seized 13 varieties of drugs.
In a different raid carried out on Thursday, the DCA officials seized overprized ‘Izol 100 Capsules (Intraconazole Capsules 100 mg) at a medical shop located in Kapra, Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
The Izol-100 Capsules (Batch No. NPD.5491) manufactured by Nuvista Pharmaceuticals Private Limited Mallapur, had MRP of Rs. 79.99- for 4 capsules, which is a violation of Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Based on the ceiling price of the regulator, the 4 capsules must be sold at Rs 66.68.
