Manugur DSP V. Ravindra Reddy stated on Thursday that Oyem Nande alias Sammakka, an area committee member, was arrested on Wednesday during vehicle inspections at Sitanagaram in the mandal by Dummugudem police, 141 Bn CRPF personnel, and special party police.

Kothagudem: Police arrested a member of CPI (Maoist) party Pamed area committee of Chhattisgarh in Dummugudem mandal.
Manugur DSP V Ravindra Reddy in a statement on Thursday informed that the area committee member, Oyem Nande alias Sammakka was arrested on Wednesday during vehicle inspections at Sitanagaram in the mandal by Dummugudem police, 141 Bn CRPF personnel and special party police.
She was a member of the Krantikari Adivasi Women’s Association of the Maoist Pamed area committee and hails from Kothaguda village under Basaguda police station limits in Bijapur district.
Nande worked as a member of the Basaguda Area Bala Sangham of the Maoist party from 1999 to 2002 after joining it at the age of 16. Then from the year 2002 to 2018 she was a member of the Krantikari Adivasi Women’s Association (KAMS).
She has been working in KAMS for the last 20 years and used to travel to tribal villages of Pamed area with his fellow cadres and hold meetings, organising activities of Maoist party, inciting the innocent tribal people to revolt against State and Central governments, the DSP said.
Maoist pamphlets and literature were seized from the arrested person. A case was registered against her under BNS, Telangana Security Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and was sent to jail for judicial remand, he added.
