Six Guarantees: Mukhra (K) villagers send postcards to Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy

Mukhra (K) villagers with the postcards in Echoda mandal on Monday.

Adilabad: Villagers took a novel way to express their dissatisfaction against the Congress party over the delay in implementation of the Six Guarantees assured at the time of polls, by mailing postcards to AICC leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister
A Revanth Reddy, at Mukhra (K) village in Echoda mandal on Monday.

In the postcards, the villagers wrote that the Congress did not keep its poll promises — to provide monthly pension of Rs 2,500 to women, a tola gold to beneficiaries of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, scooters to woman graduates, input investment of Rs 15,000 per acre to farmers, to waive crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh and to enhance social security pension amount from Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000, so far.

“The party promised to fulfil the Six Guarantees within 100 days after assuming power. However, it has not kept its word so far,” the villagers pointed out. They announced that they would stage a dharna at Janpath in New Delhi if the party failed to honor its promises, soon.

Posting about the protest of the villagers on X, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said people were able to see through the betrayal by the Congress. “Villagers of Mukhra village in Adilabad district have written to @RahulGandhi to immediately start the implementation of 6 guarantees in Telangana… 6 guarantees were assured to be implemented within 100 days of Govt formation. It’s been over 300 days and no signs of progress! People are able to clearly see through your betrayal Mr. Gandhi…” he posted.
