Huzurabad BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy became the first politician in the country to be booked under the newly introduced BNS (Bharat Naya Samhita) Act.

A case was filed against Kaushik Reddy under BNS section 122, 126 (2) at Karimnagar One-Town Police Station for obstructing the duties of government officials at the Zilla Parishad Meeting which was held on Tuesday.
Getting into details, Kaushik Reddy had a face-off with Karimnagar Collector Pamela Satpathy at the meeting the other day.

Collector Pamela Satpathy, ZP Chairman Kanumalla Vijaya, Additional Collector Praful Desai, ZPTC members and MPPs attended the ZP meeting. Kaushik Reddy was also one of the guests at this meeting.
Speaking at the event, Kaushik Reddy said he recently participated in the Education Department’s review meeting in his Huzurabad constituency. He further stated that the District Educational Officer (DEO) issued notices to the Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) who participated in this meeting.

Kaushik demanded that the collector explain why the DEO sent notices to the MEOs who attended his meeting. Along with him, BRS ZPTCs at the meeting demanded collector suspend DEO immediately.
As the situation became tense, the collector planned to leave the meeting. However, Kaushik obstructed her from leaving the meeting hall and protested by sitting on the floor.
He argued with the police officers who tried to control him. This also led to arguments between BRS and Congress leaders at the meeting.
Eventually, the police filed a case against Kaushik Reddy under the BNS Act.
