Laying the foundation stone for the Bharat Bhavan Centre for Excellence and Human Resource Development, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said Monday that the country needed an effective leadership that understands people’s aspirations and contributes to society’s development.
“We will develop a leadership that helps to give good governance to people. We will work to consolidate the democratic structure of the country. As part of that, we have taken a decision to establish a ‘political excellence and HRD’ centre at Bharat Bhavan,’’ he said.
Rao said the government would invite intellectuals and Nobel laureates from all over the world to provide leadership training at the centre to be set up at Kokapet on the outskirts of Hyderabad. He said that political parties were the pillars of the democratic governments elected by the people.
Rao stressed the need to develop a more effective leadership in tune with people’s aspirations. To cultivate youth as the future leadership, he said that education and training in political, social, economic, cultural and ideological fields were imperative.
Rao said that experienced political scientists, economists, sociologists, writers, professors, retired officials and others who have contributed to the development of society would be invited to provide training in political, social and economic fields. Social activists, politicians and leaders from all over the country will have access to the comprehensive information available at Bharat Bhavan, he added.
Rao said there would be special training classes on social media. Senior technical teams would work towards introducing media technology that is developing every day. As part of the training, information would be available to study the welfare and development sectors.
The facility would have classrooms, mini-halls with projectors, spacious meeting halls, digital libraries with the latest technology and accommodation facilities for the trainees. Newspapers from within the country and abroad and works of the world’s intellectuals from the political, social and philosophical fields would be made available at the centre.
Rao also said that a platform would be created to study the progress taking place in the social, economic, political and cultural fields around the world.
