Addressing a gathering of ministers, MPs, legislators, senior bureaucrats and Secretariat staff, he said per capita income in Telangana is the highest among all states, as is the state’s per capita power consumption, which increased from 1,100 units to an average 2,000 units per person over the last eight years. These, he emphasised, are indicators of growth and economic development.
Rao said the state’s new industrial policy is attracting “huge investments” and Hyderabad is on its way to surpass Bengaluru as the country’s IT capital.
Stating that the struggle to carve out a separate state was “fought peacefully by following Gandhian ideology”, he said the new state has come a long way since 2014.
