arnataka Budget Session Today, CM Siddaramaiah’s 17th Karnataka Budget 2026 Key Announcements & Highlights: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday presented the 2026-27 State Budget in the Vidhana Soudha, marking his historic 17th Budget.

The total outlay of the Karnataka State Budget has been pegged at ₹4,48,004 crore, with a focus on technology-driven growth, infrastructure development, and environmental sustainability. The Chief Minister announced that social media will be banned for kids under 16 in Karnataka. “With the objective of preventing adverse effects ⁠of increasing mobile usage on children, ‌usage of social media will be banned for children under the ‌age of 16,” Siddaramaiah ⁠said in his ⁠budget speech.

He also proposed to develop Mysuru as the state’s second IT city with the aim of reducing congestion in Bengaluru.

    “This scheme was helpful in preventing anaemia and malnutrition in women. Subsequently, with emphasis on Take Home Ration instead of hot-cooked meals, the scheme has deviated from its original purpose. Taking note of this, the scheme of providing hot-cooked meal in Anganwadi centre everyday will be restored,” he said during the budget speech. 

    The Mathru Poorna scheme was introduced during the previous Siddaramaiah government.
