The accused, Chaitanya, who had reportedly come from Hyderabad, engaged her in conversation before suddenly attacking her with a knife, inflicting serious injuries and deep wounds on her hand.

Medak: A 21-year-old woman degree student was attacked by a youngster, allegedly after she rejected his proposal at a government degree college in Medak on Monday.
The victim Divya Kripa (21), a resident of Avusulapally in Medak town, had arrived at the examination centre in the college around 8 am to take an open university first-year examination. The accused Chaitanya, who reportedly arrived from Hyderabad, talked with her for a while and suddenly attacked her with a knife, leaving her seriously injured with deep wounds on her hand. He then fled the scene. Divya Kripa reached the government hospital with the help of some locals. Later, she was shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment.
Since Chaitanya was carrying a knife with him, the police believed that he had come pre-planned to attack her. Divya Kripa used to reside in Hyderabad until a few years ago with her parents Krishnaveni and Kumar. However, they returned to their native place while Kumar shuttled between Hyderabad and Medak. Divya Kripa reportedly came in touch with Chaitanya when they were in Hyderabad. They reportedly were in touch on social media.
In her statement, Divya Kripa said he attacked her when she refused his proposal. However, police say she had reached the college centre at 8 am though her examination was scheduled for 1 pm, and met Chaitanya. The police were probing into the incident to find out what exactly happened. The incident triggered panic on the campus with many students around when the attack took place.
